Due to the absence of a real industry development and film film production, there are very few professionnal actors in Mauritius. We would like to turn this weakness into a value added to the project.

 

This preliminary work with non-professional actors is an apportunity to create a team spirit that will serve the project. Our inspiration comes from projects like The Secret of the Grain, A Separation, or Abbas Kiarostami works. In his previous short films, David CONSTANTIN has already developped this method, choosing actors for their personal backgrounds and their willings to make cinema.

 

Way before the production, the actors selected by casting have been following a workshop on acting, under the direction of French actress Marie RAYNAL. 

 

A first workshop has been held from 10 to 23 June 2013 in Sapin Café Culture in Rose Hill. The second workshop will be held in October 2013, a few weeks before Lonbraz Kann shooting will start.
